The Whispers

It’s suddenly become cold. I stayed in today, I haven’t smiled at anyone. My lady awaiting Susan spent most of the day with me, of course I asked her to, I was feeling lonely. She began to tell me about my companion, she said that I will have days like these. She told me about my companions’ previous wives; they sound very similar to me. Your probably wondering what I mean. I mean their personalities and they were young, around my age. They’d spend their days brushing their hair, changing dresses, eating food from the finest places. Knowing that they were in the same situation once, makes me feel better about not being experienced. But why did they become previous wives, perhaps they were not entertained enough and decided to leave. Perhaps they didn't smile enough. On this same day I went down to the Oak house, this is the other side of the house, located down stairs; you could say it’s a basement with a few rooms. The Gardner was there. I think I was blushing ever so slightly as he asked me if I had been out in the cold, I hid my face in my hands, laughing. This happened when I smiled consciously, in reach of a handsome man. The Gardner isn't the most handsome guy, but his smile is like the sunshine. Each time I would look directly into his eyes, he would look away. I attempted to hold his hands, he reminds me of a childhood friend you see, we’d go on the mule together. I could see that this would seem inappropriate, so we sat there, I offered him some cherries. Something I can’t perform with my companion, he desires me to himself, dislikes me smiling when others are within reach. The companion is quite a performer. He mimics others voices and uses the force of his personality to make horrifying situations seem merely colorful. Signed with love Veronica Anne Harper.

Portrait of myself

Today was a challenging day. I had a portrait painted of myself; the painter was a man, quite tall with long arms. My beloved companion was by the painters side, he watched me with wonder, I had never seen him to look at me in that way, as if I was a new type of food that he was not too sure whether he liked or not. I could feel my cheeks it’s as if I was extremely blushing, I’d never had two men starring at me at the same time. I didn’t feel very comfortable, felt as if I could have fallen off the high stool. The painter was very clear with instructions, I wasn’t allowed to move. The intensity in their eyes made me fearful. Signed with love Veronica Anne Harper.

A beautiful day

The sunset was so beautiful, on Sunday; I sat by the river eating cherries. Whiles watching the sunset and it sure was a delight. This reminded me of when I was only 12 years old, my acquaintance would take me to the river, to sit in the sun. Sad to say my companion doesn't feel the same. He paced up and down the river side, he became intolerant, and he does not take to the small things. The beautiful colours in the sun, the orange and bright yellow, combined together are simply magnificent. I could have sat there for hours; enjoying the sounds of the birds, the breeze surrounding me. Not to forget the beautiful creature, a white pony, its soft sheer glowing skin makes my heart feel warm. Suddenly I hear ‘Veronica Duchess come at once’ it was my husband Ferrara. He said I was to go in at once; see he doesn't like the Gardner seeing me, handsome guy he is. He said he would watch me sitting by the river. I like knowing others can still look at me and smile. I didn't realise that this was a problem. I am an outsider, for now, still yet to learn about my companion. He still needs to study me. Readers you know what I mean. I love to smile, not too much, just a little bit, smiling makes me feel happy. Signed with love Veronica Anne Harper.

The simple joys of the heart

Now I wish away my old life, the times I spent playing in the garden with my friends, the times I spent with my sisters every day, we’d play with each other’s hair. I still live the life of fearlessness. I’ve heard that my new companion had wives before myself, they disappeared without notice, they were all very beautiful ladies according to the whispers I have heard, they tell me that they were similar to myself young and had never been married before. I have been so busy practising my posture and speech that I haven’t had enough time to sit down with my faultless companion. We spend time together when we eat the finest food, this is in the evenings, we sit there in silence for good manners, we speak as he sips his wine, and he smells it, swells it and then softly speaks to me. He calls me Harper as if it is my first name; I see this to be ever so sweet. I’m not certain if this is correct, as I am unfamiliar but I love him with my heart, whatever he says makes me blush. A different birthday

I haven’t written very much recently, I am sorry. I've been ever so busy. My food served in silver cutlery, table cloths tailor made from sweet Paris, food imported from Europe’s finest. It was my birthday on September the 5th; At last I am now 16 years old. I don't feel like a lady. I look in the mirror; I sure do look like a lady. My bust corset is very tight; my lady in waiting tells me this is what my companion likes. After being suddenly taken into this new place that I am not familiar with, meant that I didn't get to spend my birthday eating sponge cake with strawberry jam and red plump cherries. This birthday was different; you’re probably wondering what I mean by different. I wore a white patterned dress with velvet material, an Ivory colour with jewels on the arms. I sure did look like a princess. I wish you could have seen me. I’m newly married and my new husband is ever so kind, his attentive, his sweet and handsome. He looks at me with such strong eyes. I’m ever so excited for the future with him, I am very eager to grow into a wonderful wife that he loves dearly; the future can only get better. Signed with love Veronica Anne Harper.
